The only sustainable development that is physically possible is that
which sustains mankind's existence through the next Ice Age glaciation
cycle, beginning in this century, or the next, of the great Pleistocene Ice Age that has determined the climate on
for almost two million years. Without mankind, there is no development.
Whatever sustains mankind through the coming 90,000 years of the returning
ages, with nine to twenty degrees lower global average temperatures,
defines the meaning of sustainable development.
This leaves out coal, gas, and oil as an energy resource, as these are fast being depleted, and likewise wood, biomass, windmills, and solar panels, as being hopelessly miniscule in energy-flux density, so that there remains nothing for our use to base our future on, except nuclear energy and space-based energy, to sustain the large-scale indoor agriculture that will likely be required when the next Ice Age deep-freeze cooling begins, and the present holiday of our lovely warm interglacial climate ends, called appropriately, the Holocene period. We may only have a hundred years left to develop the needed infrastructures and technologies for indoor agriculture, to sustain our existence.
While not a word of this will likely be spoken at the great celebration of lies that the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference has been designed for, with the delegates selected for their commitment to a fixed agenda, the kind of speech that will never be heard there exists as a speech written for a novel by Rolf A. F. Witzsche, with the title, The Ice Age Challenge. (The novel is a part of the series of novels, The Lodging for the Rose, presented in 12 episodes of a single story focused on the great renaissance principle, the Principle of Universal Love.) The speech focuses on what the conference is arranged to suppress in the interest of protecting the existence of empire against a normally developing humanity.
